Reading and Analysing Texts: A Companion to Senior English introduces students to ideas about reading itself, the different approaches they can use to become critical readers and thinkers of what they read, as well as strategies of evaluating these approaches to reading. Throughout this study, students are given the opportunity to read a variety of classic and contemporary texts. By engaging with these texts personally and critically, they will develop their knowledge of literary devices, chrarcter, theme, context, and genre.
